According to Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report, the Boston Celtics have signed Jay Scrubb to a two-way contract.

Scrubb was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2020. The 6-foot-5 guard appeared in 22 games for the Clippers before suffering a season-ending surgery in February of 2022, which led to his release months later.

Last season, Scrubb signed a two-way deal with the Orlando Magic. His most notable appearances came during his time with their G-League affiliate, the Lakeland Magic, as he averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists over 28 games.

The Magic waived Scrubb in June, but the 22-year-old quickly found his next opportunity to play in the NBA. As a member of the Boston Celtics’ Summer League squad, Scrubb averaged 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists over five games.

The Celtics now have one two-way spot left on their regular-season roster.
