Wednesday, Celtics fans received the flashback-inducing report Kristaps Porzingis is dealing with a foot injury, leaving his status uncertain for the first FIBA World Cup appearance for the Latvian Men's National Basketball Team.

Danilo Gallinari never got to live out his childhood dream of playing for the C's due to suffering an ACL tear while playing for the Italian National Team in a FIBA World Cup Qualifier last summer.

And while seemingly minor, as Oshae Brissett rehabs a knee injury, he'll miss the tournament.

But while Porzingis hasn't played in Latvia's exhibition games, the Latvian Basketball Association denies the report stating there will be a last-minute decision on the former All-Star's availability for the FIBA World Cup.

Within their denouncement, they conveyed, "Both the players' individual preparation plans and the team's overall training process are ongoing."

The tournament starts on Aug. 25.
