The Atlanta Hawks and Minnesota Timberwolves entered Wednesday night's matchup in similar positions. Both teams have flirted with .500 all season and are squarely in the mix for the Play-In Tournaments.

Naturally, the two evenly-matched teams battled down to the final few seconds of the game. With 3.6 seconds remaining in regulation, John Collins was called for a shooting foul against Karl-Anthony Towns.

Hawks head coach Quin Snyder unsuccessfully challenged the call, and Towns sunk the tying and go-ahead free throws. It was not the only questionable call made by Ben Taylor and his crew during the game.

After the game, Trae Young posted an Instagram story where he took exception to the answers provided by Taylor in the pool report. Young wrote, "This goes back to my statement I said at the beginning of the years, refs should be held more accountable ($, suspensions, etc.) just like us. This shouldn't just get "We missed it" passes."

It has been a rough week for Taylor. On Tuesday morning, Tom Haberstroh reported that Taylor had recently been demoted in his assignments. A few hours later, Haberstroh clarified his comments on Twitter.

Haberstroh tweeted, "To clarify something here: Ben Taylor has NOT been demoted or disciplined by the NBA to my knowledge. Demoted is a loaded word, shouldn't have insinuated that! BT is working as a crew chief in tonight's Atlanta-Minnesota game."

At this point, it is spilled milk for Hawks players and fans. The team currently ranks eighth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 36-37. With a challenging stretch of their schedule approaching, Atlanta has no choice but to move on from the questionable officiating.
