Injury Report: Atlanta Hawks vs Indiana Pacers

The Atlanta Hawks's regular season finale is tomorrow on the road vs the Indiana Pacers and then it will be onto the NBA play-in tournament on Wednesday vs the Chicago Bulls. I was expecting a lengthier injury report for tomorrow's game, but it is not as long as you might expect.

Clint Capela (rest) is questionable. while Seth Lundy, Wesley Matthews, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, and Saddiq Bey are out.

The past two games, Atlanta has played their starters for the first 20 or so minutes of the games and then letting the bench guys go the rest of the way. Last night, they closed with Kobe Bufkin, Vit Krejci, Bruno Fernando, Garrison Matthews, and Mouhamed Gueye. AJ Griffin also played 18 minutes in last night's game. I would expect to see a heavy dose of those guys, but keep an eye on what head coach Quin Snyder does tomorrow.

Currently, Atlanta has been locked into the No. 10 spot in the Eastern Conference and no matter what they do the rest of the way, they are going to have to win two games to get to the playoffs and face the Celtics. It was smart for Snyder to play the starters for three-quarters last night vs Minnesota because they have not gotten many chances to play together since the All-Star Break, but it was good to be able to sit them in the fourth quarter.

Atlanta only trailed by nine points at halftime against Minnesota last night, but they shot poorly from three and were 10-16 at the free-throw line. When you miss six free throws and are 1-11 from three at halftime against one of the best teams in the NBA, you expect to be down a lot more. The Hawks left some points on the court in the first half and it might have cost them down the stretch.
