Atlanta Hawks v Portland Trail Blazers

Injury Report: Atlanta Hawks vs Portland Trail Blazers

The Hawks are on a two-game winning streak and fresh off of a win over the Boston Celtics, a game in which they trailed by as many as 30 points. It was an unbelievable win for the Hawks and they have momentum on their side heading into Wednesday's matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Hawks and the Blazers both have injury concerns heading into this game though and the injury reports are lengthy.

Saddiq Bey (left knee torn ACL), Kobe Bufkin (left big toe sprain), AJ Griffin (right ankle sprain), Mouhamed Gueye (right UCL sprain), Jalen Johnson (right ankle sprain), Onyeka Okongwu (left big toe sprain), and Trae Young (left fifth finger torn ligament) are all out tomorrow vs Boston.

For Portland, Malcolm Brogdon (R Elbow Tendinitis), Shaedon Sharpe (G League - On Assignment) Anfernee Simons (L Knee Tendinitis), and Robert Williams III (R Knee Lig Tear) are all out tomorrow. Jerami Grant (R Hamstring Strain) is doubtful while Deandre Ayton (L Elbow Tendinitis) and Matisse Thybulle (R Ankle Impingement) are questionable.

The Hawks provided an update on Young's injury today:

"Guard Trae Young, who sustained a left fifth finger torn ligament on Feb. 23 and underwent surgery on Feb. 27, had his one-month follow-up evaluation yesterday. Young is making progress in his recovery. As the next step of his rehabilitation, he will introduce small finger motion exercises this week. His status will be updated as appropriate."

The Hawks are coming off of one of the most improbable victories of the season last night when they came back to beat the Boston Celtics after trailing by as many as 30 points.

At the beginning of last night's game, the Celtics simply could not miss from three and they led the Hawks by 22 just after the first quarter. The Celtics shot 67% from the field and 71% from three in the opening quarter while Tatum scored 14 points, Brown had 13, and Porzingis. Atlanta could not do much to stop the Celtics big three.

Things changed in the second half though.

Boston was 1-15 shooting from three in the second half, while the Hawks were 11-19. When a team makes 10 more three's than you, they are likely going to win, even if you are up 30. Whether it was Vit Krejci, Bogdan Bogdanovic, or De'Andre Hunter, the Hawks got hot from three in the second half and it helped them complete the historic comeback.
