Bam Adebayo Passes Udonis Haslem On Miami Heat’s All-Time Scoring List

Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo reached a franchise milestone against the Golden State Warriors.

Bam Adebayo’s 17-point performance against the Warriors moved him up the Miami Heat’s all-time scoring ladder.

Adebayo passed former Heat veteran Udonis Haslem to move to No. 7 in the franchise rankings. Haslem played in Miami for 20 seasons but was always more of a rebounder and defender during the Heat's championship days.

As the No. 2 option during Jimmy Butler's time in Miami, Adebayo has focused primarily on defense and rebounding, but has rounded his two-way game with consistent scoring. He is averaging a career-high 21.8 points so far this season. The previous criticism of Adebayo's lack of aggressiveness is being reciprocated with dominant production in the paint, while improving his all around game with facilitating.

Adebayo now only trails Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Glen Rice, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Rony Seikaly as the Heat's scoring leaders. Adebayo can likely pass Bosh and Seikaly this season, given that he's only 397 away from getting 7,000 career points. If he continues averaging 21.8 points, it would only take about 19 games to reach this mark and move to No. 5.

One category Haslem can hold over Adebayo for quite some time is rebounding. Haslem is the Heat's all-time leader in total rebounds, ranking just over 2,000 more than Adebayo.

But when it’s all said and done, Adebayo may surpass Haslem in that statistic too. As a centerpiece of the Heat’s core, Adebayo will still have some years of peak basketball in Miami.

He has the chance to add on to his franchise accolades Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
