Can Kevin Love Help Fuel Another 3-1 Finals Comeback For The Miami Heat?

Miami Heat veteran Kevin Love was a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that came back from a 3-1 Finals deficit.

Okay, I know.

It’s crazy to compare the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers to this Miami Heat team. It’s even crazier to insist Kevin Love fueled the comeback, and that he can do it again this time.

But at this point, Heat fans are hoping for whatever they can get to defeat the Denver Nuggets. After going up 3-1 in all their previous series, they are now on the other end of elimination. Consecutive blowout losses at home leave any possibilities or narratives up for consideration.

With that in mind, Love has been here before in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors. Though his offensive production was low, he at least knows what it takes to overcome this deficit.

“We know that anything can happen,” Love said. “It has been done before in the Finals, I’ve been a part of that. You really just have to take it one possession at a time. Forget the game, it’s just one possession, one quarter, half by half, and just get it done by any means necessary.”

One of the few positives the Heat can take from Game 4 was Love’s third quarter effort. He had nine points and two rebounds in the period, sparking a temporary comeback. That veteran presence and energetic effort is what Miami needs to extend the series.

“I just wanted to provide energy,” Love said. “I thought Kyle did a great job in the first half coming off the bench. Guys stepped up throughout our lineup, that’s what I did in the third quarter.”
