How Miami Heat's Twitter Reacted To Sunday's Win Over The Charlotte Hornets

Miami Heat get big win over Charlotte Hornets amidst announcement of Dwyane Wade's statue.

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade was in the building Sunday to celebrate his Hall of Fame night at Kaseya Center.

So it’s only fair that the Heat capped the evening off with a blowout victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Bam Adebayo led the way with a 24-point double-double, while Tyler Herro scored 21 points on 4 of 9 shooting from 3-point range. Duncan Robinson and Josh Richardson added 30 points off the bench on 55 percent shooting from the arc.

But honestly, Wade pretty much dominated topics of conversation all night.

The Heat's social media even trolled the Hornets with the meme of Wade arguing with the "purple shirt guy" from Game 6 of the 2016 Eastern First Round. Wade had 23 points that game, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to ultimately save the series for Miami and spoil the Hornets fan's night.

Hornets stars Lamelo Ball and Terry Rozier went a combined 3 of 24 from the field in the first half. They finished combining for 47 points but still only shot 36 percent.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 15 points in the first quarter before exiting with a groin injury. He could’ve had a career night if he didn’t leave early.

Thankfully though, the Heat defense held Charlotte to 31 points in the first two quarters, the lowest-scoring first half by any team in the league this season.

The Heat play the Brooklyn Nets (16-22) Monday night.
