Miami Heat's Kyle Lowry Again Struggles Against Toronto Raptors, His Former Team

Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry has scored a combined seven points against his past two matchups with the Toronto Raptors

Kyle Lowry only had four points in the Miami Heat’s 121-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

It was another tough night for Lowry, who made just 2 of 9 shots, missing all sixb3-pointers.  The poor performance could have maybe been predicted against his former team.

Lowry spent nine seasons in Toronto before arriving in Miami in the summer of 2021. He was named to six consecutive All-Star games, helping the Raptors win their first championship in 2019. Lowry is considered by many to be one of the best players in the franchise history.

Since joining the Heat, Lowry, 37, has faced Toronto seven times. He has failed to reach double-digit points in four of them. He had three points in 28 minutes in the previous meeting.

He has played 16 career games against Toronto, averaging just 11.4 points. It is the lower against any team and well below his 14.4-point average over his career.

Lowry’s productivity has dwindled with time. The latest matchup against Toronto exemplified his struggles this season. Lowry, who is averaging 8.4 points this season in a diminished role, has swirled in trade rumors because there is speculation the Heat have hopes of improving the roster before the trade deadline.

Time will tell if Lowry is able to turn back the clock to when he flourished with the Raptors.
