Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro Likely A Game-Time Decision For Game 2

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says Tyler Herro’s status remains unchanged

The Miami Heat are expected to get guard Tyler Herro back at some point during the NBA Finals but the timetable remains unknown. 

Herro is likely a game-time decision for Sunday’s Game 2 after recovering from recent hand surgery. Herro was sidelined after sustaining the injury in Game 1 of the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks. He underwent surgery April 21. 

Herro, who was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year in 2022, was a starter this season. He averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists in the regular season. 

His returns gives provides another reliable scorer. It also adds another ball-handler who can take some of the facilitating load of Gabe Vincent, Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. 

Rust is a concern because Herro hasn't played in almost seven weeks. Still, the Heat could his presence at the stage of the season.
