Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro Thrives In Win Against Memphis Grizzlies

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro exceeded all expectations in his second preseason game, scoring 30 points in 30 minutes

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro was the star of the show in the Heat’s preseason victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening.

In the absence of superstar Jimmy Butler for the third straight game, Herro stepped up.

He scored 30 points along with six assists and three rebounds in 30 minutes. He played an efficient game, shooting 57.9 percent and 4-of-7 from three-point range.

Despite his efforts, the Heat trailed by three entering the fourth quarter. Sharpshooter Duncan Robinson’s eight points in the final quarter rallied the Heat to a 132-124 win.

In Miami’s preseason opener against the Charlotte Hornets, Herro scored 22 points.

After a summer filled with drama, he is proving his focus remains on basketball regardless of the circumstances. Missing out on Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard was not ideal, but Herro is looking to prove himself as the difference-maker.

Losing in the NBA Finals twice in four seasons comes with backlash from the media, especially after being sidelined for the latest run. Herro is using the criticism and disrespect to fuel himself leading up to the start of the regular season.

The Heat will face the Detroit Pistons at home in their season opener.
