Takeaways From Miami Heat's Loss Wednesday Against New York Knicks

The Miami Heat got knocked deeper in the play-in tournament

The Miami Heat’s hopes of getting out of the play-in are slowly closing. Despite Julius Randle’s ankle injury in the second quarter, the Heat were unable to snap a two-game losing streak, pushing them deeper in the play-in tournament.

Here are some major takeaways from the game:

-After two straight games with single-figure points, Gabe Vincent led the Heat with 21 points while hitting four 3-pointers. It was the most he scored since Feb. 15.

-Bam Adebayo had his worst game of the season. He scored only nine points, the first time this season he was held to single-figure points. The last he scored single-figure points was May. 27 when he scored six points in the playoffs. He did have 11 rebounds, though.

-After being sidelined a game due to a neck injury, Jimmy Butler returned but wasn’t how he planned it. He finished with just 12 points and only two free throws.

-The Heat played decent defense. They forced the Knicks to commit 15 turnovers, 11 of them in the first half. They fouled them 18 times, allowing the Knicks to attempt 23 free throws.

-With Kyle Lowry sidelined due to a knee injury, Duncan Robinson led the bench with 12 points, all of them coming from the 3-point line.

-Kevin Love finished the game with five points but he had a rough first half. He went scoreless in the first two quarters while attempting four shots.
