"Catch And Shoot" Becoming A Way Of Life For Miami Heat's Terry Rozier

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier spent most of his career with the ball in hands.

Now, he's sometimes is the third option with the Heat. So it has taken some adjusting the past few months. The biggest task has been becoming more of a catch-and-shoot player and it's producing results.

Rozier is coming off a 34-point performance, including eight 3-pointers, in Tuesday's win against the New York Knicks. Many of his looks were in catch-and-shoot situations.

"Y'all don't understand how much Spo has been on me about catch and shoot since I've been here," Rozier said. "It takes a little time to get adjusted coming from Charlotte. I always had the ball in my hand. All of my 3s come off the dribble. That's just kind of how I play. I had to get back to my workouts, catching and shooting. It was just a matter of time."

Rozier made 19 3-pointers in the past three games, taking advantage of the absence of injured guard Tyler Herro. Even when Herro returns, the Heat will still try to find opportunities for Rozier.

"He's being himself now," Love said. "We know what he's capable of. He grew up loving the Miami Heat. For him to be part of this was a big deal for him. The fact he finally got his legs underneath him, got settled in with us, he understands what we want out of him."

So far, the trade has paid off. The Heat acquired Rozier in exchange for Kyle Lowry at the deadline in February.

"It's taken him some to get comfortable here," Heat coach Spoelstra said. "We had a ton of moving parts. By now, he knows that everybody wants him to be aggressive ... It just shows you what he's capable of."
