Don't Be Fooled by the Latest Hornets-Brandon Miller Rumor

It's the internet folks. Don't believe everything you read.

With it being just weeks away from the 2023 NBA Draft, you're going to see a ton of "reports" surface on social media in regard to what the Charlotte Hornets are going to do with the No. 2 overall pick.

The latest bit of "news" Hornets fans are being misled by is that the team is "leaning" toward Alabama's Brandon Miller over Scoot Henderson.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer projected Miller to the Hornets in a recent mock draft stating, "All indications suggest the Hornets are leaning toward Miller with this choice as a partner for LaMelo Ball. I’d go in that direction too over Scoot Henderson because Miller brings playmaking skill in his own right, on top of his go-to scoring prowess."

O'Connor is a well-respected voice in the NBA media community and I don't believe he was insinuating that's something he has heard from someone within the organization. Several NBA accounts on Twitter and other well-known fans are twisting the context of O'Connor's projection analysis. "All indications suggest," in my opinion, is just reiterating what everyone else believes around the league, not necessarily how the Hornets view the situation.

Neither Brandon Miller nor Scoot Henderson has made the trip to Charlotte yet for their pre-draft workout. That is expected to take place sometime within the next week. Charlotte places a lot of weight in the pre-draft workouts, so if you're someone who is hoping Henderson is the pick, don't read much into the whole "leaning toward Miller" thing.

We still have a long way to go before a decision is made.
