NETS: Out: Ben Simmons (Back), Noah Clowney (Shoulder) Probable: Cam Thomas (Ankle) Questionable: Dennis Smith Jr. (Back)
GAME PREVIEW:
It will be another LaMelo-less game for the Charlotte Hornets tonight, as LaMelo Ball is still out because of his ankle. But even though the Hornets losts their In-Season Tournament game to the Knicks on Tuesday, they still have a chance to reedem themselves in New York with this regular season matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Will the Hornets grab their first win on this road trip?
Currently, the Nets are hovering close to even with a record of 9-8; Charlotte is struggling to keep up at a record of 5-11. Still, as it stands right now, Charlotte has logged more wins than the Bulls, Pistons and Wizards.
A missed opportunity tonight could be getting to see former Hornet Dennis Smith Jr. out on the floor against his old team. Now with the Nets, Smith Jr. is listed as questionable with a back injury.
The game will air at 7:30 PM EST on Bally Sports Southeast.
KEY MATCHUP: Gordon Hayward vs Mikal Bridges
One matchup to keep on eye on here is Gordon Hayward and Mikal Bridges, both vets vying for control of the floor at forward. In the Hornets' loss Tuesday, Gordon had a slow start, amassing 4 points total; that included his clutch dunk (assisted by Brandon Miller) to end the second quarter. When the Nets beat the Raptors on Tuesday, Bridges ended up with 22 points.
