Hornets Begin Six-Game Road Swing with Loss to Clippers

The Hornets fall to 7-21 on the season.

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Charlotte Hornets' losing streak moved to eight Tuesday night after they fell to the L.A. Clippers, 113-104.

It was a tightly contested game throughout although Charlotte was down three starters once again with LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Mark Williams all on the shelf.

The Hornets actually pulled out to a 91-84 lead following a pull-up three from Terry Rozier, forcing the Clippers to call a timeout. The Clips responded with a 9-2 run to tie the game up at 93 a piece and then extended the run out of the Charlotte timeout to get a comfy 103-93 lead. Free throws helped the bugs hang around, but after cutting it to four, the Clippers pulled away.

Best of the Night: P.J. Washington

I wasn't particularly thrilled with the play of the starting five, so I had to go to the bench for this one. Washington shot an efficient 7/10 from the floor, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and recorded two steals. He was the best player on the floor for the Hornets in this one.

Worst of the Night: Nick Richards

Richards recorded a double-double but that doesn't tell the whole story. He had a bad night defensively and looked lost on a handful of possessions.

Stat of the Night: 31 assists

The Hornets may not have shot the ball extremely well, but they did share it. As a team, the Hornets racked up 31 assists which is the third-most for a single game this season.
