Lifeless Hornets Lose 5th Straight

Hornets lose 104-87 on the road

Summary

The Hornets couldn't recover from a lifeless first half where they managed to score just 16 points in the first quarter and 15 in the second, finding themselves down 21 at the half. Charlotte's offense looked disorganised and the players disinterested.

It's not the losses that are troubling for Charlotte, it's the nature of the disjointed, unorganised Hornets team who can't even make it competitive. Miami were missing Butler, Love and lost Jaquez halfway through the game but still found a way to compete, Charlotte wilted. As the season goes on Hornets fans need thicker and thicker skin, but many appear to be getting more and more wore down.

LaMelo Ball struggled in the first half in his second game back after 8 weeks out with his ankle injury. He was inefficient from the field and struggled to create quality shots for his teammates, he did manage to find some rhythm in the second half.

Best of The Night - Miles Bridges 20pts 7reb 1ast 3to

He was far from spectacular, but Bridges did enough to take the honors for tonight's game. Shooting 8-17 from the field made him the most efficient of Charlotte's top three scorers.

Worst of The Night - Charlotte's body language

A complete lack of intensity, a team that didn't look together or invested in any kind of gameplan, that was tonight's Charlotte Hornets. Miami were beatable tonight, the Hornets had enough talent but everyone knew how this game was going halfway through the first quarter. The Hornets players lack resilience, whatever the opposite of bounce back ability is they suffer from it.

Stat of The Night - 15 Points

That is the total number of points the Hornets had outside of Bridges, Ball and Rozier before Clifford waived the white flag and inserted the bench late in the fourth quarter.
