Hornets Shut Down Two Players For Remainder of Summer League

The Hornets will be without a rookie and third year player for their remaining games

The Hornets have made the decision to sit the No.2 pick, Brandon Miller for the rest of the summer league, along with Hornets center Kai Jones.

This concludes Brandon Miller's summer league as he averaged, 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in the five games between the California Classic and the NBA2K24 Summer League.

This is coming off of an impressive 26 point outing from Brandon Miller on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Hornets have seen enough and believe it's best to have Miller finish on a good note and not risk potential injury.

This also closes Kai Jones' summer league, as he averaged: 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks on 62.5% from the field. Jones played in each of the Hornets five games across the California Classic and in Las Vegas.

This comes as a little surprise, more so than Brandon Miller being shut down because Jones is still trying to show he's worthy of rotational minutes for the Hornets next season. However, maybe they've seen enough and he's secured his spot at least for training camp.

Jones being shut down for the rest of the summer league does impact James Nnaji. James Nnaji has been one of the more impressive players thus far and now he's going to get extended run with Jones out. It will be exciting to see what James Nnaji can do as a starter for the remainder of the Hornets' summer league games.
