Game Preview:

The Charlotte Hornets take on the Detroit Pistons tonight at 7:00 p.m. EST in Spectrum Center.

The bottom two teams in the Eastern Conference come into tonight's game with two completely different types of streaks. Charlotte are on a four-game winning streak and the Pistons on a four-game losing streak. The Hornets will look to extend their winning streak against a poor Pistons team that recently added former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman. During Charlotte's 4 game win streak LaMelo Ball has been on a tear averaging 27.3 PTS, 11.5 AST, and 8.8 REB on 42% shooting from 3. Hayward has also quietly been productive for Charlotte averaging 22.5 PTS, 6.5 REB, and 4.5 AST on 61.1% from the field and 70% over that span. The Hornets will look to come out firing and get their first win of the season against Detroit.

KEY MATCHUP: Mark Williams vs James Wiseman

Two of the largest human's under 25-years-old will go head to head on the block tonight. The former 2nd overall pick from the 2020 draft and the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Both towering at over 7 feet and are known for their athleticism and size. James Wiseman's career has been disappointing so far due to injuries and his inability to stick in the Warriors rotation, but the 21-year old is getting a fresh start in Detroit.

Wiseman is averaging 9.7 PTS and 8.3 REB in 22.7 MPG through his first three games as a Piston. His size and mobility could prove to be a challenge for Mark Williams tonight. Mark Williams recently posted a career-high 18 PTS and 20 REB against the Heat, and is thriving in his new position as the Hornets starting center. This will be a fun battle between two young & hungry centers looking to prove that they belong.
