Miles Bridges Back at Hornets Practice

An interesting development of sorts in Charlotte.

Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges turned himself in to local authorities earlier this week after a warrant had been issued for his arrest for violating a protection order in addition to child abuse and injury to personal property charges. Bridges appeared before a district country judge and was released on a $1,000 secured bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13th at 9 a.m. EST.

There is some uncertainty as to what this means for Bridges' future with the team, given that he has already been awarded a second chance. To fulfill his suspension handed down by the NBA, he will be required to miss the first ten games of the 2023-24 season.

The Hornets have not issued a statement on the matter and when asked about the possibility of not having Bridges, head coach Steve Clifford said Saturday, "I just do it day-by-day. Listen, when you're in this league, there's two things you learn right away -- one, don't look at the schedule. Don't look and say we've got a tough February. Just do it day by day. And in terms of players, I come in every day and talk to (trainer) Joe Sharpe and ask who do we have today. And that's who you coach."

Bridges was, however, in attendance for today's practice and did participate in the shootaround open to the media. It is unknown if he practiced during the closed portion with the remainder of the team.
