NBA Eastern Conference Power Rankings - Week of Nov. 28th

Where do your Charlotte Hornets land this week?

Here are your Eastern Conference Power Rankings for the Week of Nov 28th, 2023.

1. Boston Celtics (13-4) - The Celtics are 7-0 at home and 8-2 in their last 10 games.

2. Orlando Magic  (12-5) - Say what now? The Magic have rattled off 7 straight wins and are 7-2 vs Eastern Conference teams. Can their young core keep this pace?

3. Milwaukee Bucks (12-5) - The Bucks are 7-3 in their last ten games and are averaging 120.4 points per game, good for 4th currently in the East

4. Philadelphia 76ers (12-5) - Joel Embiid and friends completely destroyed LeBron and the Lakers to start the week, winning by 40 at home. Yes, 40. 138-94. Embiid had a 30-point triple double.

5. Miami Heat (10-7) - The Heat have lost two straight, but benefit from a glut of teams behind them that recently lost as well. One of the most difficult teams to properly grade. Very streaky.

6. Cleveland Cavaliers (9-8) - SG Donovan Mitchell is playing at All-Star level, averaging 27.0 ppg. Chance to move up the rankings with Atlanta, Portland and Detroit on the schedule this week.

7. Indiana Pacers (9-7) - Basically treading water playing .500 ball still. But fun fact, the Pacers lead the entire NBA in scoring with 127.6 points per game. The problem is that they allow 124.8, worst in the East.

8. New York Knicks (9-7) - Knicks get a LaMelo-less Hornets to start the week (sprained ankle) and then face Detroit and Toronto later in the week. A 3-0 week would push the Knicks up the rankings.

9. Toronto Raptors (8-9) - Up two spots from last week, Toronto has Brooklyn to start the week, followed by home games vs the Suns and the Knicks.

10. Atlanta Hawks (8-8) - The current definition of .500 in the East, the Hawks are 4-6 in their last 10 games. The Hawks are currently only outscoring their opponents by 2.6 ppg.

11. Brooklyn Nets (8-8) - See Atlanta. 5-5 in their last 10 games, Nets hit 25 3-pointers in a win over the Bulls on Sunday, which is the high in the NBA so far this season.

12. Charlotte Hornets (5-10) - Maybe the Hornets saw this power ranking last week? A huge win in overtime vs the Celtics started the Hornets week, plus a win over the Wizards, but Buzz City fell to the red hot Magic on Sunday. LaMelo Ball is day-to-day with a strained ankle and it's clear the Hornets are a completely different team with him on the floor opposed to without him.

13. Chicago Bulls (5-13) - The Bulls lost all four of their games since the last Power Ranking was released. Zach LaVine is still being rumored to be traded soon. Is it affecting the team?

14. Washington Wizards (3-14) - 1-9 in their last 10 games. The Wizards are turning into a punchline described by "Jordan Poole did what now?" each week.

15. Detroit Pistons (2-15) - The Pistons are horrible. They have lost 14 straight games and are getting outscored by 8.7 ppg by their opponents.
