Pelicans Interested in Trading Up for Scoot Henderson

Pelicans have interest in trading up into the top three.

The Hornets have a decision to make on June 22nd and regardless of who they prefer between Brandon Miller and Scoot Henderson, they will listen to the New Orleans Pelicans' offer, if there is one made.

Monday evening, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Pelicans are "seriously pursuing a top 2-3 pick" in the draft. We all know San Antonio isn't moving out, so if the Pelicans do engage in trade talks, it would be with Charlotte for No. 2 or Portland for No. 3.

The Pelicans have several packages they could put together for either the Hornets or the Blazers. It would be interesting to see if Brandon Ingram or Zion Williamson were on the table. If their names were being thrown out there, the Hornets should have a serious discussion.

Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, and Dyson Daniels could be potential players to be dealt if the Pelicans were to pull off this blockbuster trade. Another potential piece the Pelicans could include in a deal is their first-round pick (No. 14 overall) or multiple future first-round picks. It's still in question what the Pelicans would be willing to offer to trade up to select Scoot Henderson.

The Hornets have worked out Scoot Henderson and plan to workout Brandon Miller on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what path the Hornets take in this upcoming draft, which is just 10 days away.
