Report | Hornets "Monitoring" Wizards Guard in Trade Talks

Charlotte are searching for a back-up point guard after Dennis Smith Jr left in Free Agency

According to a report from Hoopshype's Mike Scotto the Charlotte Hornets are interested in trading for Washington Wizard's guard Delon Wright. The 31 year old 6'5 point guard has played for six teams in the past five years after starting his career for four years in Toronto. Scotto reported:

Wright averaged 7.4 points 3.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 47.4% from the field and 34.5% from three. Wright is known as a traditional point guard, while not being an explosive scoring threat he has finished last year with an above average assist rate at 21%. Defensively in percentiles he ranks in the 72nd (Blocks) and 99th (Steals) making him one of the best back-up defensive guards in the league. Wright also ranks in the 92nd (Fouls) and 98th (Offensive rebounds) percentile, two statistical categories which fit well into a Steve Clifford system.
