Former Hornet Signs With Boston Celtics

Svi Mykhailiuk signs one-year deal with Boston Celtics.

Former Charlotte Hornet Svi Mykhailiuk has agreed to a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Mykhailiuk played for less than a season in Charlotte, as he was traded to the Hornets at the NBA trade deadline. Mykhailiuk appeared in 19 games for the Hornets, eight of which he started. In those 19 games, Mykhailiuk averaged 10.6 points per game on superb shooting splits (44.1% FG, 40.4% 3PT).

There's no question that Mykhailiuk starting at the end of the season, along with receiving starting minutes helped him pursue a longer career in the NBA. In fact, Mykhailiuk proved himself tremendously, as he averaged 17.3 points per game as a starter for Charlotte, along with an impressive 5.3 assists.

Now, Mykhailiuk will continue his NBA career with the Boston Celtics. However, this will also be Mykhailiuk's seventh team he's played for in his career and his sixth team in the last six years. Mykhailiuk has certainly been on the move recently, which is usually what they call a journeyman. It's not necessarily a bad thing as teams still feel the need to add a shooter off the bench, which is what Mykhailiuk can provide to an NBA roster.

There was a question of whether or not Mykhailiuk would go overseas, but it's good to see he's sticking around in the NBA, especially with such a contending team in Boston.
