Jazz-Clippers Injury Report: Kawhi Leonard Update

The Utah Jazz will be looking to snap their 10-game losing streak in LA tonight.

The Utah Jazz will attempt to snap their ten-game losing streak when they hit the road to face the Los Angeles Clippers. Both teams will be missing key contributors.

Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and John Collins are out for Utah. Kawhi Leonard and Joshua Primo will also be absent for the Clippers.

Since the February 8 trade deadline, the Jazz have had a rough ride. Utah has only won three contests since dealing Kelly Olynyk, Simone Fontecchio, and Ochai Agbaji for draft compensation.

The deadline deals have paid off if you’re on the team tank. The Jazz have retained their top-ten protected first-round pick and are currently sitting at the eighth spot in regard to lottery odds. Also, Taylor Hendricks and Bryce Sensabaugh are getting live NBA reps because the trio of veterans that were shipped out of Salt Lake City.

However, it hasn’t gone so well for the anit-tank fans. It feels like a dark cloud has been cast over a franchise that isn’t used to not competing for a playoff spot. Developing a winning culture is important, and as the losses keep piling up, the more frustrated fans and players appear to be getting.

So, which path is the correct one? That remains to be seen, but it should come down to how Utah does in the upcoming draft lottery. Utah has a 26.2% chance of getting in the top four and a 6% chance of landing at number one.

A loss tonight will help to secure the eighth spot. The tip-off tonight is at 8:30 pm MST.
