The Utah Jazz couldn’t get out of their own way against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night 105-91. The Jazz entered this contest carrying momentum from recent success but simply struggled to generate consistent offense against the rare win Grizzlies.

Jazz coach Will Hardy appeared pleased with the first four to five minutes of offensive execution. After this small sample size, the Jazz seemingly lost focus while the Grizzlies continued to play with a heightened sense of toughness.

Hardy shared his thoughts in his post-game press conference.

"I think we witnessed a desperate Grizzly team against a Jazz team that may have taken winning somewhat for granted," Hardy said.

The Jazz dressed 12 players, and 11 received game minutes. Only three Jazzmen scored in double-figures, indicating the lack of offensive production for the night.

John Collins managed to score 17 points, while Jordan Clarkson and Simone Fontecchio tallied 12 points each. Reserve Luka Samanic was a bright spot, scoring five points and grabbing two rebounds.

Samanic also posted a +6 game rating and was the only Jazzman who did not register a negative game script. It's safe to say this game will leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth associated with Jazz basketball.

On the other hand, the Grizzlies finally won a home game for the first time this season. Memphis landed six players in double-figures, led by Jaren Jackson Jr.'s 20 points, six rebounds, and six blocked shots.

David Roddy chipped in with 19 points and six boards, and Desmond Bane was solid with 17 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. All of the Grizzlies posted positive game ratings, led by Derrick Rose, who was a whopping +20.

The Jazz must recuperate swiftly as they will face several former teammates tomorrow night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, headed by Rudy Gobert. I expect a much better showing from the Jazz in a competitive contest against the Timberwolves. The game will tip off at 6:00 pm MST.
