Jazz-Rockets Injury Report: Markkanen, Clarkson, Whitmore Status

The Utah Jazz are looking to avoid eight-straight losses on Friday night.

The Utah Jazz are hitting the floor once again on Friday night, as they'll face off against the Houston Rockets for the second time this week.

The Rockets have been on a supreme hot streak recently, winning each of their last ten games en route to a serious Play-In Tournament bid in the Western Conference. As for the Jazz, they've been stuck on the other end of the spectrum, suffering from seven-straight losses, most recently against the San Antonio Spurs.

Pulling out a victory tonight is likely to be a lofty task for this Jazz team, especially so when considering the players potentially on the sidelines. Both teams released their injury reports ahead of the contest, with each team having several guys listed.

Utah Jazz:

Lauri Markkanen- QUESTIONABLE (shoulder)

Jordan Clarkson- OUT (back)

Johnny Juzang- QUESTIONABLE (back)

Houston Rockets:

Cam Whitmore- OUT (knee)

Alperen Sengun- OUT (ankle)

Tari Eason- OUT (leg)

Steven Adams- OUT (knee)

The Jazz could ultimately be without two of their top players in Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen. Clarkson is already listed as out with a back injury, and Markkanen is questionable with a shoulder injury. Both have been in and out of the lineup down their recent stretch of games, so it would not be a shock to see each of them ruled out ahead of Friday.

As for the Rockets, Sengun will remain out due to the scary ankle injury he suffered from a few weeks back. He'll stick on the sidelines alongside Steven Adams, Tari Eason, and Cam Whitmore, who are also listed as out. Whitmore, however, is likely to return soon, as coach Ime Udoka reported that the rookie is getting "closer to a return."

Tip off for this one will go down at 7:30 PM MT at the Delta Center.
