It's about time for Brooklyn Nets' guard Ben Simmons to get back to the court, and it may just happen against the next game for the Utah Jazz. He has been sidelined since November 8th with a lingering back injury, but reports are now surfacing that a return may be imminent after almost three months.

According to a tweet from Erik Slater, Simmons has a "high likelihood" of returning to the floor come Monday's game vs. Utah.

Simmons has played a total of six games this season, averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. It's a bit of a step back from the types of performances we saw earlier in his career, but his impact as a high-level defender has remained consistent through the years.

Simmons spoke with Slater about how his rehab process has differed from years past, displaying some added optimism this time:

“Definitely [was different] because I felt I was starting from zero [last time]. With this one, I at least had a lot of work I had put in prior. So I wasn’t at zero, I felt like I was just dealing with that injury in that area. So I was able to keep that strength in other areas and just work on what I needed to work on in terms of the rehab.”

During his first six years in the NBA, Simmons has missed a total of 195 games of his possible 600. The goal for the 3x All-Star moving forward will be finding consistency in staying on the court after struggling to find that across the past three seasons.

The Jazz and Nets will tip off at Barclays Center on Monday with hopes that Utah can continue their win-streak to three games.
