Timberwolves Anthony Edwards Posterizes Jazz in Dunk of the Year

The Utah Jazz were on the wrong end of a dunk for the ages.

You win some, you lose some. The Utah Jazz fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night at the Delta Center. Still, after the game, the chatter on the social media front had everything to do with arguably one of the wildest dunks of all time.

At the 5:30 mark of the third quarter, Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards received a pass from Nickel Walker-Alexander on a fast break and, off of two feet, jumped over 6-foot-10 John Collins for an unforgettable rim rocker that had players and fans in disbelief. After the game, “Anthony Edwards” and “Dunk of the Year” were trending on “X”

In the aftermath, Collins had to be removed from the game with a head contusion, and Edwards injured his finger on the play. Despite the injury, Edwards finished the game with 32 points and eight assists.

The Timberwolves took advantage of the momentum swing and outscored Utah by 10 points in the fourth quarter to secure the 114-104 win. However, after the game, the dunk took center stage.

We can chalk it up as the wrong place at the wrong time for Collins. He was a sitting duck, and there was really nothing he could do to stop Edwards's momentum. and if we're being honest, there are very few players that could.

Edwards has taken his game to another level this season. He's emerged as the Timberwolves best player on the court and has even entered the MVP conversation. Time will tell if he’ll ever be able to top what he did on Monday night, but at the least, it's a play that will be in the NBA highlight Hall of Fame.
