The second game of the season between the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers takes place on Wednesday, with both teams entering the night on a bit of a losing skid. The Jazz have been caught on the wrong end of three straight, while Portland will be looking to avoid their ninth-straight loss.

Utah will once again be without Walker Kessler as he deals with an elbow injury. The lingering UCL sprain has kept him out of the lineup since November 6th, but with a contact practice window opened for this week, it won’t be long until we see Utah’s starting center back to 100%.

Outside of that, the Jazz look to have a healthy slate for Wednesday.

As for the Blazers, they look to be a bit beaten up for this contest. Anfernee Simons (thumb), Ish Wainright (knee), and Justin Minaya (illness) have all been ruled out, but third-overall pick Scoot Henderson might be gearing up for a potential return. He’s listed as questionable with an ankle injury after being out of action since November 1st.

The Jazz didn’t get the opportunity to face off against Henderson in their first match of the season against Portland during the In-Season Tournament, but Wednesday provides some enhanced optimism of an on-court appearance. Through an early five games into the season, Henderson has averaged 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists on 34.6% shooting from the field.

After falling three straight, the Jazz now have the perfect opportunity to bounce back into the win column against Portland on Wednesday at 7 PM MT.
