Kings HC Mike Brown Sounds Off on Rematch vs. Warriors for Play-In

The Sacramento Kings head coach welcomes the challenge of facing Dub Nation.

With the 2023-24 NBA regular season finally wrapped up, the teams for this year's Play-In tournament are officially set with a collection of potentially stellar matchups to soon be underway. One of those highly-anticipated contests is none other than a rematch from a season ago between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors as the 9th vs. 10th seed matchup.

Since being taken down in 2023 after seven games, there's no question this Kings team is starving for some redemption against this squad. Both teams have had an up-and-down stretch throughout the year and will now each be fighting for their playoff lives in hopes of advancing for a chance at the 8th seed.

Kings head coach Mike Brown spoke after Sacramento's final game of the season vs. the Portland Trail Blazers, expressing excitement for the chance to compete and make some noise in the postseason in a video from James Ham of TheKingsBeat.com on X:

"We welcome anybody that's in front of us," Brown said. "We're just excited about an opportunity to play. Again, situations like this, we as a group right now haven't been through. To go play one game right now, that's how I look at it. Swing for the fences. Try to get a win. It's a great opportunity for us to go do it while trying to move on and growing in the same breath."

In the four games these two have matched up against each other during this season, they both sit at 2-2, making this a perfect rubber match worth all of the stakes. As opposed to last year, the good news is that Sacramento will be on their home floor at the Golden One Center, making for a tough road battle for Stephen Curry and the rest of the Warriors to endure.

Tip-off between the Kings and Warriors will take place on Tuesday at 7 PM MT, where Sacramento will put it all on the line for a chance to light the beam and avoid suffering from an early postseason exit.
