Kings-Nets Injury Report Revealed Ahead of Much-Needed Win

The Kings visit Brooklyn as the regular season winds down.

The Sacramento Kings have lost four of their last six games, causing them to drop to ninth place in a competitive Western Conference. The Los Angeles Lakers have won nine of their past ten, giving them an edge over this struggling Sacramento squad, but with five games remaining, the Kings still have hope of a late-season run.

The Kings visit the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night for a chance to get back in the win column. The Nets have already been eliminated from playoff contention with a 31-47 record, but winning five of their last seven suggests they have not given up on the court.

Sacramento is a near-even 15-14 against Eastern Conference teams this season, and Sunday's matchup in Brooklyn is their last time facing an opponent from the East this season. Despite their struggles, the Kings are only half of a game behind the Lakers for eighth place, so Sunday's matchup is a must-win for Sacramento.

Both teams have released their Injury Reports ahead of Sunday's matchup in Brooklyn:

Sacramento Kings:

Kevin Huerter - OUT (shoulder)

Malik Monk - OUT (knee)

Brooklyn Nets:

Cameron Johnson - OUT (toe)

Dorian Finney-Smith - OUT (knee)

Dennis Schroder - QUESTIONABLE (Achilles)

Dennis Smith Jr. - PROBABLE (hip)

Nic Claxton - QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

Keita Bates-Diop - OUT (shin)

Ben Simmons - OUT (back)

Dariq Whitehead - OUT (shin)

The Kings will remain without Malik Monk for the next few weeks, while Kevin Huerter is sidelined for the remainder of the season. Outside of their starting shooting guard and star sixth man being injured, the Kings have a clean slate led by star duo De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

The Nets have a loaded Injury Report with eight players listed. The Nets could potentially be down four starters in Sunday's matchup, headlined by starting wing Cameron Johnson and big man Nic Claxton. Brooklyn will be shorthanded heading into the matchup against Sacramento, but with their top two scorers still active, they remain a threat to the Kings.

The Kings know they can compete with any team in the league, but have also proven to struggle against inferior opponents. The Nets are still a talented team despite their injuries, led by their star wing Mikal Bridges, and talented guard Cam Thomas.

The Kings and Nets have faced off once this season, where Sacramento won 131-118 behind a 29-point performance from Fox and 24 points from star sophomore Keegan Murray.

In order to make a needed run, the Kings must take the rest of the season game by game, starting with a necessary win in Brooklyn on Sunday.

The Kings and Nets tip off at 4:30 PM PT.
