Injury Status Revealed for Kings G Kevin Huerter

The Sacramento Kings could be without Huerter in a pivotal matchup against the 76ers.

The Sacramento Kings fanbase has grown frustrated with sharpshooter Kevin Huerter this season, shooting a career-low 33% from deep, a disappointing way to follow up his career-best 2022-23 season. The fanbase is not alone, as Kings HC Mike Brown eventually removed Huerter from the starting lineup, replacing him with Chris Duarte.

Huerter has had his fair share of cold streaks this season, but the sharpshooter turned it around, earning his starting spot back. In his second game back in the starting lineup, Huerter suffered an injury practically seconds after tip-off, as Sacramento managed to get the win against the Charlotte Hornets in his absence.

Huerter has missed just one game this season due to injury, but now his status for Friday's pivotal matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers is up in the air. The 25-year-old shooting guard suffered a left ankle sprain in Charlotte, as he was officially listed as questionable a day before the game in Philly.

Sacramento might catch a break as they visit the third-best team in the Eastern Conference with superstar big man Joel Embiid ruled out with left knee inflammation.

With Huerter likely sidelined and Embiid ruled out, the matchup in Philadelphia will be interesting. If Huerter is inactive, expect expanded roles from two-way standout Keon Ellis or rookie Colby Jones.

The Kings have a challenging schedule ahead of them, and Huerter's injury could be a game-changer.
