De’Aaron Fox Breaks Assist Record as Kings Breeze Past Suns

Fox passes Sacramento legend Mike Bibby, and Malik Monk puts Golden 1 Center on their feet in style.

The Sacramento Kings bounced back strong Friday night to win a convincing 120-105 game over the Phoenix Suns after getting blown out by the Boston Celtics. The Kings now move to 2-0 on the season over the Suns. On top of the victory at Golden 1 Center, there were multiple big things to happen Friday night.

G De'Aaron Fox surpassed Kings legend Mike Bibby as Sacramento's all-time assist leader. Bibby had 2580 assists as King, and Fox ended the game with 2583. Fox was able to surpass Bibby in his 7th NBA season in roughly the same amount of time it took Bibby to get to 2580.

Fox also had 19 points in the first half and ended with 23 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.

G Malik Monk put the hammer down over Suns F/C Drew Eubanks with an electrifying dunk.

C Domantas Sabonis recorded his fourth triple-double of the season, and second in his past three games. Sabonis ended with 28 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in another All-Star performance. Sabonis also had a triple-double over the Washington Wizards earlier this week.

Stellar Sophomore F Keegan Murray also had another solid shooting game, dropping 21 points and shooting 8-13 from the field. This is Murray's 4th 20-point game in his last 7, with one of those games being his career-high and multiple record-breaking 47-point game. Murray also ended Friday with 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Kings move to 17-10 on the season and will look to increase the win streak to two on Saturday, December 23 at 7 P.M. PT/10 P.M. ET against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who they already beat once this season in the In-Season Tournament.
