Kings’ De’Aaron Fox Wins NBA-High Second Player of the Week Award

The 25-year-old point guard put up video game numbers in Week 6 to earn Player of the Week honors.

The franchise player for the Sacramento Kings has done it again - being named Western Conference Player of the Week. G De'Aaron Fox took home the Player of the Week award for Week 6 of the NBA season after averaging 31.7 points, 8.7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 50.8% from the field over three games. This is Fox's second Player of the Week award this season - the most of any NBA player.

Fox was also named Player of the Week in Week 4 after he returned from an ankle injury and averaged 32.3 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.3 steals during a 4-game span. Fox had multiple impressive performances over Week 6, leading the team in points during every game. The Kings went 2-1 in a challenging three-game slate against the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, and Denver Nuggets

Fox led the Kings to a 1-point victory over the Warriors in a crazy In-Season Tournament comeback with a 29-point performance. Fox also put up a monster 40-point game against the Clippers, despite a 131-117 loss. However, perhaps his best performance was his 26-point effort against the Nuggets on Saturday night, in which he also recorded 16 assists.

Fox has put up multiple MVP performances all season - and his numbers back it. Averaging 30.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in his 13 games this season, it would be foolish for anyone to count him out of the running even though he seems to be getting looked over by lots of media. The MVP award is awarded to a player who is the most valuable to a league and has game-changing excellence - and when you take Fox out of the Kings, you can see how important and game-changing he is.

This is Fox's fifth Player of the Week award in his career.
