Kings' Sabonis Notches 20th Triple Double of Season in Win vs. LAC

The Kings picked up a statement road win over the Clippers on Sunday.

The Sacramento Kings went into the All-Star break with a shaky 4-5 record from their previous nine games, but since returning from the vacation, the stars have come out firing. All-Star snub duo De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have been phenomenal, as the duo continued to shine in Sunday's 123-107 statement road win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

While the Clippers were without All-Star wing Paul George in Sunday's matchup, none of L.A.'s starters scored less than 14 points, led by Normal Powell, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard combining for 61.

Sacramento's starting five still managed to outplay the overhaul of the Clippers' talent, with Fox notching his third 30+ point game in his last four appearances with 33 while tacking on seven assists and six rebounds.

Everybody around the league is aware of the tear Kings' star Sabonis has been on this season, but the big man notched his fourth consecutive triple-double and his league-high 20th of the season on Sunday night. Despite struggling against Ivica Zubac and the Clippers throughout his career, Sabonis finished with 17 points, 12 assists, and 15 rebounds.

Sabonis has now tied Oscar Robertson for the fifth-most triple-doubles in a single season in Kings' history. The Big O has set the standard for triple-doubles, holding the franchise record with 41 triple-doubles in a single season. While Sabonis will likely not reach that mark, he needs three more triple-doubles to take the fourth-place spot and seven more to take the second-place spot.

With possible history on the horizon for Sabonis, expect the big man to continue to stuff the stat sheet and hope they continue to translate to wins for Sacramento.
