Kings Set Franchise Record in Statement Win Over Nets

The Sacramento Kings drilled 25 three-pointers in Monday's win over the Brooklyn Nets.

The Sacramento Kings hosted the hot Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, coming out with a 131-118 win to move to 13-8 on the season. While the Kings played exceptional basketball, nobody expected Sacramento to have a historic night.

The Kings set a franchise record for most three-pointers made in a game, with 25. Sacramento shot 25-45 (55.6%) from deep, led by De'Aaron Fox, Trey Lyles, Malik Monk, and Keegan Murray shooting a combined 18-27.

Since starting the season 2-4, the Kings have won 11 of their last 15. Fox has made his case for NBA MVP, finishing Monday's win with 29 points, eight assists, and a +31 on-court differential. Fox's three-point development has been a game-changer for him and the Kings' success, as he is attempting three more three-pointers per game than his 2022-23 All-NBA Third Team season.

Despite rumors and noise around the Kings being involved in trade talks, Sacramento came together with an outstanding team performance. The Kings continue to prove to doubters that no changes need to be made, but they will not make 25 three-pointers every night.

Led by Fox, Monk, Murray, and Domantas Sabonis, the Kings can compete with anyone, and the historic night might be just what the team needed to build more momentum.

Sacramento visits the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night for the second leg of a back-to-back.
