Kings-Mavericks Injury Report: Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving Status Update
The Sacramento Kings managed to get back to their winning ways on Wednesday vs. the Golden State Warriors, but now an even bigger challenge awaits. Fresh off a historic 73-point performance last night, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks will have a date at home against the Kings.
Doncic posted the fourth-highest point total in NBA history on Friday with absurd 75.8/61.5/93.8 shooting splits across the night. He also stuffed the stat sheet with ten rebounds and seven assists to lift Dallas above the Atlanta Hawks, 148-143. Now, Sacramento will be the next team with hopes to contain the MVP candidate.
Both teams revealed their injury reports heading into Saturday’s contest:
Sacramento Kings:
Sasha Vezenkov- QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
Dallas Mavericks:
Luka Doncic- QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
Kyrie Irving- DOUBTFUL (thumb)
Dwight Powell- OUT (eye)
Maxi Kleber- QUESTIONABLE (toe)
Derrick Jones Jr.- QUESTIONABLE (wrist)
The Kings’ lone entry is Sasha Vezenkov, who is listed as questionable with an ankle sprain. He was sidelined for Sacramento’s last game against the Warriors, but his upgraded questionable status provides some optimism for tonight’s matchup.
As for the Mavericks, there sits a few designations on their second leg of a back-to-back. Doncic is listed as questionable with right ankle soreness, along with Maxi Kleber and Derrick Jones Jr. potentially being a game-time decision before this matchup.
However, don't expect to see Kyrie Irving or Dwight Powell in this one for Dallas while both still deal with rehabbing injuries that kept them out of Friday's legendary game.
The Mavericks and Kings will tip off in American Airlines Center at 6 PM PT with hopes for Sacramento to put together a newfound win streak.
