Kings-Nuggets Injury Report: Jamal Murray's Status in Question

The Kings head to Denver for the second leg of a back-to-back.

The Sacramento Kings have been on a skid, losing four of their last five to fall from fifth to eighth in the competitive Western Conference. Sacramento is 5-5 in their last ten, the only top-ten team in the West that is not above .500 in that span. The Kings are slipping as they approach the All-Star break, but there is still time to bounce back.

Sacramento's last win came in a 135-106 finish against the Denver Nuggets, but the Nuggets will get their chance for revenge on Wednesday night. Kings big man Domantas Sabonis has snatched the triple-double and double-double crowns away from Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, as the two elite centers going at it will be a treat.

The Kings and Nuggets have each revealed their Injury Reports heading into Wednesday's matchup:

Sacramento Kings:

Sasha Vezenkov - OUT (ankle)

Trey Lyles - QUESTIONABLE (illness)

Denver Nuggets:

Jamal Murray - QUESTIONABLE (tibia)

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)

Julian Strawther - QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

Vlatko Cancar - OUT (knee)

Hunter Tyson - OUT (finger)

Nuggets star point guard Jamal Murray is up in the air for Wednesday's game, but Denver HC Michael Malone has said Murray will be doubtful against Sacramento, per Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports.

If the Nuggets are without Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the Kings would have an immediate advantage. This is Sacramento's last outing before the All-Star break, and grabbing a statement win in Denver would be the best way to gain momentum before the final stretch.

While the Kings are on the second leg of a back-to-back, the team should know this is a must-win game, and everybody needs to step up. On the back-to-back's first leg, the Kings were taken down by the Phoenix Suns, despite star duo De'Aaron Fox and Sabonis combining for 75 points. While Sacramento's stars might come into Denver tired, they will have all of All-Star weekend to rest up.

The Kings and Nuggets tip off for a Valentine's Day matchup at 6 p.m. PT.
