Stockton Kings Head Coach Makes G League History

The Sacramento Kings G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, has seen immense success this season with a league-best 24-10 record. Stockton's success can be largely attributed to head coach Lindsey Harding, who has taken home the hardware for 2023-24 NBA G League's Coach of the Year.

Harding becomes the first woman to win the award, paving the way for the future of professional basketball. Harding, 39, had a nine-year WNBA playing career before entering the coaching field and is already seeing unbelievable success in her first season as a head coach.

The Kings franchise has now brought home two Coach of the Year awards in the past year, as Sacramento's Mike Brown won the 2022-23 NBA Coach of the Year after leading the Kings to their first playoff apperance in 16 seasons.

Stockton is led by a group of G League phenoms, including Colby Jones, Skal Labissiere, Mason Jones, and Jordan Ford. With the regular season concluded and the playoffs starting this week, the Kings have secured the one-seed in the Western Conference, setting up an expected G League playoff run.

The Kings posted the G League's best record for the second consecutive season, as they finished 25-7 last year before losing in the semifinals. Stockton has been at the top of the G League for two seasons, but now they will see if Harding can lead them to a G League championship.
