The New York Knicks announced the re-signing of DaQuan Jeffries this week, shortly after the veteran's latest 10-day contract expired. Per Fred Katz of The Athletic, the contract runs through the remainder of this season and includes a team option for next year.

In addition to giving Jeffries a job for the rest of the season, the Knicks also revealed another 10-day deal for Mamadi Diakite, who made his metropolitan debut in the closing stages of New York's 124-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday.

Jeffries' time with the Knicks hasn't seen much action but has built a lasting prescence with the team since originally entering the organization as a free agent in 2022. His true impact has come with the Knicks' G League affiliate in Westchester: in 14 appearances in the regular season this time around, Jeffries has averaged 22 points and just under 5.9 rebounds. Prior to his time with the Knicks, Jeffries played with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Memphis Grizzlies.

"I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder my whole career,” Jeffries told Josh Robbins of The Athletic while playing with the Orlando Magic's Summer League group in 2019. “I feel like that’s how everybody should play.”

Like Diakite, Jeffries earned some playing time on Monday, hitting a three-pointer in the final minutes of a blowout triumph. Both might have a chance to get back in if the Knicks (43-28) handle business on Wednesday when they face the reeling Toronto Raptors in Ontario (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG).
