The sitch on Mitch has taken an exciting new turn.

The latest injury report for Wednesday's game between the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors (7:30 p.m. ET, MSG) now lists starting center Mitchell Robinson as "questionable," the first designation he's had beyond "out" since leaving Dec. 8's loss in Boston with an ankle injury. Robinson has been sidelined ever since, but has been inching closer toward a return in recent weeks.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau previously offered a positive update for Robinson, who is by far the closest injured Knicks starter to returning, prior to Monday's blowout win over Detroit. New York has also been missing OG Anunoby and Julius Randle and neither has a timetable for his respective return.

"Mitchell is moving quite well," Thibodeau said, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN. "He's cleared for contact and all that. He's going through practices and so just needs a little more time. But he's doing really well overall."

The Knicks (43-28) will have a bit of a first-world problem to deal with if and when Robinson is ready to come back: the longest tenured member of the Knicks has been a staple in the starting five over the prior three seasons and was off to a dominating start on both the rebounding (career-best 10.3 per game in 21 appearances) and defensive fronts.

New York has managed to get by in the paint thanks to the ongoing efforts of Isaiah Hartenstein and Precious Achiuwa, each of whom has risen to the occasion in Robinson's absence. Robinson previously hinted that he'd be willing to come off the bench in a social media comment.
