NBA Trade Deadline 2024: Every Deal That Affects the Knicks (Updating)

As they move up the NBA standings, the New York Knicks will need to keep their eye on the transactional landscape this trade deadline.

Mind your own business? The New York Knicks can't afford to do that.

As the hours tick down to the NBA's trade deadline, the Knicks should take a vested interest in what's transpiring throughout the Association. Time will tell exactly what, if any, moves the Knicks engage in (beyond, of course, Dec. 30's acquisition of OG Anunoby) but it'll no doubt set the stage for the rest of the season.

Keep track of each and every trade that affects the Knicks leading up to the 3 p.m. ET deadline below, complete with analysis of the Manhattan aftershocks ...

Boston's X-Factor

CELTICS GET: Xavier Tillman
GRIZZLIES GET: 2027 second-round pick (from ATL), 2030 second-round pick (from DAL)

(Adrian Wojnarowski)

How It Affects the Knicks: Like the Knicks before them, the Celtics have enjoyed the Kirstaps Porzingis era but his lingering injury issues have necessitated a backup plan. Al Horford remains serviceable, but Boston has acquired some fresh, younger interior depth in the form of Tillman, who is putting up 5.2 boards per 36 minutes. Since the Knicks have prided themselves on dominating the battles on the boards, it's hard not to view this move as a way to counter New York's paint power.

Interior Blues

JAZZ GET: Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, 2024 first-round pick
RAPTORS GET: Ochai Agbaji, Kelly Olynyk

(Adrian Wojnarowski)

How It Affects the Knicks: Kelly Olynyk will reunite with RJ Barrett, a fellow member of the Canadian national team that placed third at last summer's World Cup. The veteran Olynyk could've been a solid depth piece for the Knicks, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson. Instead, he'll serve as a veteran prescience in the Raptors' ongoing rebuild.
