Knicks' Donte DiVincenzo Thanks Warriors 'Family'

New York Knicks shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo thanked the Golden State Warriors and their fanbase for their support during his one-year tenure.

New York Knicks' shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo said farewell to the Golden State Warriors through Instagram on Thursday.

"GSW family, From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!" DiVincenzo wrote. "Much love, #0."

Knicks stars Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson apparently succeeded in convincing the front office to pursue DiVincenzo, as their fellow former Villanova Wildcat signed a four-year, $50 million deal with the team on July 1. DiVincenzo spent one season in the Bay Area before declining his player option. In his 72 games (36 starts) as a Warrior, DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 26.3 minutes per game.

Most of DiVincenzo's starts last season stemmed from normal starter Andrew Wiggins missing time on the floor due to personal reasons. DiVincenzo filled the role nicely, recording 10.3 points per game on 36.8 percent shooting from downtown over the Warriors' final 25 regular-season games.

As the 26-year-old turns to the next chapter of his NBA career, the Knicks community certainly hopes for his consistent outside shooting will continue to develop, as New York struggled from deep last season. Another element that Brunson and Hart are anticipating  DiVincenzo still shares their mutual championship mentality from their net-cutting days at Villanova. That appears to be the case, as DiVincenzo won a ring at the professional level with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2020-21 season.

When combining his shooting and championship experience, DiVincenzo might be able to make an immediate impact in the Big Apple.
