JJ Redick Spots 'Improvement' in Knicks' Quentin Grimes

Veteran shooter-turned-analyst JJ Redick saw a lot of potential in New York Knicks shooting guard Quentin Grimes during workout together.

Even with no draft picks, the New York Knicks have had quite the offseason: they traded power forward Obi Toppin to the Indiana Pacers, signed Golden State Warriors shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo, and successfully convinced Josh Hart to enact his $12.9 million player option.

On top of it all, they've been searching for an All-Star caliber player to trade for. They have several picks and talented players that other teams would starve for, but nothing has ensued.

Assuming the Knicks don't make a trade, ESPN analyst JJ Redick believes shooting guard Quentin Grimes, a player who would hypothetically hbe involved in those packages, has made tremendous strides this offseason during their workout together.

"(I saw) some improvement offensively and some improvement with consistency shooting the basketball," Redick said during an appearance on "The Old Man & The Three" podcast. "He’s highly competitive, highly energetic, he fits on that team, he fits on that roster."

Redick is certainly an expert of shooting beyond the arc, as he finished his career in the NBA's top 20 in three-point percentage (41.45 percent) and three-pointers made (1,950). Redick believes Grimes' shooting could be a major factor in the Knicks' success next season.

"The guy could potentially give them another five wins in the regular season and really help them in the playoffs,"

Grimes was second on the team in three-point percentage last season (minimum of 100 attempts). Based on what Redick said, there's a good chance he finishes first next season... if he isn't part of an All-Star trade package.
