Knicks Earn Top Marks For Bogdanović, Burks Trade

The New York Knicks have been viewed as one of the major winners at the NBA trade deadline after trading for former Detroit Pistons Bojan Bogdanović and Alec Burks.

The New York Knicks have been commonly viewed as one of the big winners of the 2024 NBA trade deadline thanks to a high-profile deal that brought in former Detroit Pistons Bojan Bogdanović and Alec Burks.

Bleacher Report was among the latest to laud the Knicks, as Dan Favale offered the Bogdanović/Burks trade an A- from the New York perspective.

"Bogdanović should fit like a glove on the Knicks, both with and without (Julius) Randle," Favale writes. "Head coach Tom Thibodeau can stagger the two, but New York has the personnel to play Bogdanović, Randle, and a big together ... to top it all off, the Knicks are far enough beneath the luxury tax to make a buyout splash if the opportunity presents itself."

Bogdanović has picked up where he left off last season since returning from a calf injury that wiped out the first half of his follow-up to a career-best campaign. The 34-year-old averaged 21.1 points in parts of two seasons with the Pistons and was shooting over 41 percent from the three-point range, his best output since the 2019-20 season with Utah.

The Knicks also brought back Burks, who was with the team for two seasons before spending the past year-plus in Detroit.

"Burks is most critical for his reliable self-starting," Favale wrote of the backcourt depth man. "He has some wiggle when he gets into the lane, and he's drilling over 38 percent of his pull-up triples this season.

Both Bogdanovic and Burks partook in Saturday's showdown against the Indiana Pacers, each coming off the bench. Though Bogdanović struggled in the 125-111 defeat (3-of-10 from the field), Burks put in 22 points, including 15 alone in the fourth quarter.

The Knicks (33-20) have a brief road trip in store before the All-Star break, one that begins on Monday in Houston (8 p.m. ET, MSG).
