The New York Knicks could be getting one of their primary pieces back in the nick of time.

The latest injury report for the team's Friday night visit to Chicago (8 p.m. ET, MSG) features a noticeable upgrade, as OG Anunoby is now listed as questionable to partake. Anunoby was labeled out for each of the previous nine games with an elbow injury.

That ailment has partly derailed what has otherwise been a brilliant season for the Knicks, who are 15-2 when Anunoby dons his No. 8 jersey. The seventh-year man came over in a late December trade with the Toronto Raptors in a deal that also netted Precious Achiuwa. Already lauded for his defense, Anunoby has averaged 14.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in his 17 appearances as a Knick this year.

The good news around Anunoby comes just over 24 hours after the Knicks learned that they'd be without three-time All-Star Julius Randle for the remainder of the season after the latter opted to undergo surgery. New York was also able to welcome back Mitchell Robinson, who returned earlier this month after missing 50 games with a December ankle injury.

Alas for the Knicks, the good injury news might've come at a minor price: while Anunoby was upgraded, both Jalen Brunson (foot soreness) and Josh Hart (wrist sprain) were each listed as probable for the opener of a four-game road trip. To Hart's credit, he had the same designation for Thursday night's game and wound up scoring a season-best 31 in a 120-109 triumph over Sacramento.
