Anthony Davis Gets Honest About Lakers Performance Against Grizzlies

Following their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers managed to move up in the Western Conference standings. The team sits in the 8th spot within the conference heading into the final day of the season on Sunday.

Grabbing the win over the Grizzlies helped the team move up but it wasn't easy. Los Angeles was forced into a battle throughout by a team that had 13 players listed as out on the injury report.

However, Lakers star big man Anthony Davis wasn't overly concerned with the performance of the team. If anything, he was just happy that they found a way to win, especially given the circumstances surrounding the team right now.

“Just win,” Anthony Davis said. “They got some talented young guys over there who can score the basketball. We just got to win. It’s the time of the year where you just got to win. Win and keeping moving forward.”

If the Lakers win on Sunday over the New Orleans Pelicans, they clinch the 8th seed in the West. This would ensure that they get at least two chances to reach the official postseason bracket. However, a loss would open the door to them being either the 9th or 10th seed.

The Lakers' inconsistency all year has forced them into this situation but they do control their own destiny. It won't be easy to take down a Pelicans team that is also fighting for their own playoff seeding. But Los Angeles is confident in themselves to win any game, now they will just need to show it with one chance left.
