Lakers News: Anthony Davis Unpacks How He Led LA To Victory Over Milwaukee

The Los Angeles Lakers earned a massive victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday evening, coming from behind to get the win. It was a gut-check performance for Los Angeles, giving them a needed win to keep pace in the playoff picture.

The Lakers currently sit in 9th place in the Western Conference standings, but are only two games behind the Phoenix Suns for the eighth spot. If they can move themselves up, it would give them multiple chances to make it into the official bracket.

Star big man Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers, pouring his heart and soul into the win. He willed the team to victory, despite being in pain throughout.

Davis played 52 minutes in the game, posting 34 points, 23 rebounds and four blocks. He wouldn't be denied in the two overtime matchup and explained how he managed everything after the win.

“I’m very confident in my game,” Davis said. “I know none of the shots that I took felt weird. They all felt good, I just missed them. So I just kept shooting.”

When Davis plays aggressively, the Lakers are at their absolute best. They need him to lead the way down the stretch, especially when James sits out.

Los Angeles guard Austin Reaves praised Davis after the game, saying that it was his mentality to stick with everything despite the adversity pushing back.

“With how the game was going, we could’ve easily moved on to tomorrow because all these games are must wins and we need him feeling as good as anybody going into these games,” Austin Reaves said. “But his mentality (is) to stick with it.”

The Lakers have another must-win game tonight, as they face off against the Memphis Grizzlies. If they can pick up another win, it could go a long way to helping their cause to reach the postseason.
