Lakers Injury Report: 6 LA Players Ruled Out Vs Wizards

It's going to be another shorthanded squad against one of the league's worst.

Your Los Angeles Lakers will be missing several critical and not-so-critical contributors tonight for their late start against the Washington Wizards.

In the second night of a back-to-back pair of games, following a stunning 21-point fourth quarter comeback victory against the LA Clippers on Wednesday, the Lake Show is hoping that the star of the show yesterday will be able to suit up, but that's no sure thing.

According to the NBA's latest injury report, the same three rotation bench pieces who missed the action against Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and co. will be absent tonight, too. Forward Jarred Vanderbilt remains shelved with a right mid-foot sprain, point guard Gabe Vincent continues to recuperate from his left knee surgery, and center/power forward Christian Wood is still on the shelf with a left knee effusion.

Meanwhile, three LA rookies will also be unavailable. Former No. 17 draft pick Jalen Hood Schifino and former No. 40 pick Maxwell Lewis are both still on assignment with the South Bay Lakers. Two-way signing Colin Castleton continues to recover from his right wrist fracture.

All-Star forward LeBron James is questionable with a left ankle peroneal tendinopathy, which sure didn't seem to put a cramp in his style en route to a Lakers-most 34 points against the Clips yesterday (including 19 in the fourth quarter alone). Then again, the 39-year-old is the NBA's oldest player, and the Lakers should be able to beat the Clippers with or without his help, so maybe it's okay if he does sit this one out. All-Star center Anthony Davis is probable with a bilateral Achilles tendinopathy, and small forward Cam Reddish is also considered probable to play for his second game in the last month as he continues to recover from his right ankle sprain.
